Reviving dormant channels for one of Nairobi's established opticians — and adding roughly 6,000 TikTok followers in the first two months.
Vijay Opticians (Vijay Optica) offers eye testing, prescription lenses, designer frames and contact lenses to Nairobi families. Decades of walk-in trust — but the next generation of customers chooses their optician the same way they choose a restaurant: by what they see on TikTok.
The TikTok and Instagram accounts existed but had gone quiet — no posting rhythm, no face to the brand, and no content format that made eyewear feel exciting. Eye care is also a category people don't think about until they need it, so the content had to earn attention first and educate second.
We rebuilt the channels around three pillars: Frame Try-Ons (fast transitions, "which one?" hooks that drive comments), Eye-Care Myths (the optometrist answering the questions Kenyans actually search for), and Behind the Lens — the testing room, lens cutting and same-day collection moments that build trust.
Everything was produced on-site in short, high-frequency shoots, edited in a consistent yellow-and-red brand look, and posted daily on TikTok with Instagram Reels as the second channel. Comments and DMs were answered within the hour to convert curiosity into booked eye tests.
Within two months the revived TikTok account had gained roughly 6,000 followers, with try-on videos regularly outperforming the brand's entire previous history of posts. More importantly, customers began walking in referencing frames they'd seen on the feed — social had become a genuine front door for the business.
Our TikTok had been sitting idle for months. Kontent revived it and we crossed 6,000 new followers in the first two months — with walk-ins asking about frames they'd seen on the feed.
